Hey Guys!!!! I just posted yet another poll on the brand of pointe shoe you are currently useing. I am useing Grisko and LOVE them!! Especially the 2007 brand. I once tried the pros, but I found that the shank broke in way to fast. I've also used Gaynor Minden and they are EXTREMELY comfortable, but they didn't look right on my feet. Please comment on your pointe shoe experiences and which brand is your favorite!!! To order pointe shoes at a discounted price, I would recommend http://discountdance.com/, but if you are new to pointe shoes, and you are buying them for the first time, I would recommend trying them on in a store first!!! I also added a diagram to help those people out who have no idea what a shank is and such!!!!
As a dancer i must say that picking the right pointe shoe for you is very important. But i cannot say which one is my favorite. Now i have to get them customy made because i have an odd toe but i would not recomens bloch
ReplyDeleteHi! Im currently using Gaynor Minden. Their my second pair, so.. My first pair were Sansha, but they were really uncomfortable, and hard to bend, so I didnt get all the way up on my toes.
ReplyDeleteLike you said, I also find GM extremely comfortable. I love them! I was really lucky, cuz I bought them over the internet (I live in Norway) and was very happy when I saw that they sat really good on my foot.
Im just wondering:
the discount dance site, I saw that they send to Norway, How do you feel about buying dance wear over the internet? Do you have any experience with that? My dad was kinda skeptical, since it was so cheap! Cuz in Norway a normal leotard cost like 60 dollars!
I'm glad that you were happy with your purchases! I personally have never found sanshas very comfortable or flattering to my foot.
ReplyDeleteI think buying dance wear over the internet is an excellent idea as long as you buy it from a trusted site (such as discountdancesupply.com). When buying stuff over the internet you should always read reviews on the items you are thinking about purchasing, ESPECIALLY if the item is not returnable. I usually buy my pointe shoes over the internet because I know what my size and such already. Well your dad has no reason to be skeptical of buying dance wear from trusted sites! That stinks that leotards cost atleast $60!
I ♥ also Gynor Minden they`re the best... I`ve tried two types of bloch and they don`t fit so good and are much less comfortable on my feet :)
